Dominikus Müller is a writer, art journalist and translator who lives in Berlin. He was editor-in-chief of frieze d/e until the end of 2016 and has published his writing in venues such as Artforum , artnet.de, the Berliner Zeitung , De:Bug , Spex , taz , Texte zur Kunst . For Spike he has written about untangleable knots in the work of Marie Angeletti , the importance of the family for Oscar Murillo and Henrik Olesen's "Mr. Knife & Mrs. Fork". In the next issue of Spike he helps make sense of Isa Genzken's show at König Galerie in Berlin.

Joanna Fiduccia

Joanna Fiduccia did her PhD on Caravaggio and recently moved from New York to the much cooler Portland to teach twentieth-century European and American art history at Reed College. It's the only school in the United States with an on-campus nuclear reactor. Fiduccia regularly writes on contemporary art for Parkett , Artforum , and East of Borneo as well as for Spike. For us she has written on Laura Owens , On Kawara , Henri Matisse and Tetsumi Kudo over the last years. In the upcoming issue #54 she discusses the work of artist Anicka Yi and gets to the bottom of what it means for scents to be political.

Dean Kissick

Dean Kissick is a writer based in New York. It's already been a year since he started writing Spike's popular monthly online column, The Downward Spiral , where he examines the culture of a collapsing society. So far, he has found it in Ivanka Trump's art collection , Japanese kids locking themselves in their rooms , subculture wars , the robot Sophia , the BBC's Blue Planet and elsewhere. Aside from his frequent contributions to Spike, Kissick writes on fashion, art and culture for publications like The Guardian , i-D and GQ . For Spike's upcoming issue he contributed not one but two major texts: Kissick writes about the mystery of Gilbert & George and the transformation of the classic American mall into a wonderland.

Ella Plevin

Ella Plevin is a writer and stylist based in London and at home all over the world. She was based in Berlin for over six years where she wrote our popular guide to fashion label Vetements only to number its days in a follow-up piece on Gucci's disparate aesthetics for the current issue .

Her work has been published in NYLON , Living in the Future , i-D , Interview DE , Novembre and Texte zur Kunst among other venues and she has also worked as the costume designer on projects with Metahaven, Holly Herndon, DIS, Britta Thie and Simone Aughterlony besides acting as contributing fashion editor at Whitelies Magazine . For our upcoming issue "New Formations" she peeked into the future, watching Zach Blas's video Jubilee 2033 at Gasworks, London.

Asad Raza is an artist, producer and writer based in New York and Leipzig. Alongside all his other projects, he found the time do work on several texts for Spike this year: he interviewed Andros Zins-Browne for the summer issue, wrote about tennis legends like Roger Federer re-conquering the court and even came by Spike headquarters to cook daal and sing as part of a warmly remembered book launch for The Home Show , inspired by a group exhibition he organized in his New York apartment in 2015. He was also recently co-editor (with Hans-Ulrich Obrist) of Mondialité: Or the Archipelagos of Edouard Glissant and transformed a Milan church into a tennis court . Time is a strange unwieldly thing, as Raza observes in a text written with Philippe Parreno about the third season of Twin Peaks in our upcoming issue.
