This landmark exhibition is constructed around Broodthaers’ major work, "Musée d’art Moderne - Département des Aigles" (1968-1972). Thanks to years of research on the part of Monnaie de Paris in close collaboration with Maria Gilissen Broodthaers and Marie Puck Broodthaers, and many loans from public and private collections, "Musée d’art Moderne - Département des Aigles" has been reconstructed at Monnaie de Paris. While the exhibition does not attempt to reconstitute the project in its entirety - which would betray the artist’s
original intention - the pieces on display at Monnaie de Paris present the work in its most complete and accomplished form seen to date.
