In the Studio of Matthew Robert Lutz-Kinoy

Dear Matthew, how is your studio space looking at the moment, and which objects has influenced you in your work lately?

At night time we are screening movies in the studio. Our weekly cinema in Zurich is small and has a streetlife putumayo esthetic, I am into serving dumplings and popcorn. Its a mild winter in Europe with a good amount of sun in Switzerland and in the day time I am reading Under the Sign of [sic] Sturtevant’s Volte-Face by Bruce Hainley. Such good writing. Obsessed.

In my handbag folded open to page 12 is the publication I See / La Camera : I  by Jacob Korczynski with these photo composite images by Babette Mangolte of the performer James Barth and the Western Union Building on Duane Park. A project that consisted of still-photos and film in which Mangolte images people in the studio and complements these images with the outside spaces of New York City.
