KENNETH ANGER (1930–2023) was the trailblazing director of the underground short films Fireworks (1947), Maldoror (1952), Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome (1954), and Scorpio Rising (1963), among others, as well as the author of Hollywood Babylon (1959), an account of celebrity sleaze and scandal in the LA film industry.
