Margaret Thatcher famously declared once that there was "no alternative" to the present state of things. But what are alternatives if not the offsprings of negativity? Anthesis, antagonism, negation, catastrophe and pessimism cleave a space for new growth: alternatives. In a dialogue with Mohammad Salemy (The New Centre for Research & Practice), members of ANON (Alexandra Hedako Mason, Joe Giacona and Karim Sam) – the authors of the AltWoke Manifesto – will explore their framework of negativity and polemic critique of the present in greater detail and clarity. The gathering is also a chance to assess the movement of thought and practice by the collective since the publication of their Manifesto in February 2017.
