For Spike’s 18th artist talk at Soho House Berlin, fresh off set-designing Demna Gvasalia’s debut runway show for Gucci, Niklas Bildstein Zaar joined us to talk sub, the transdisciplinary architecture office he co-founded in Berlin in 2017.

NIKLAS BILDSTEIN ZAAR is the Creative Director and lead designer of sub. In addition to Demna, collaborators include Anne Imhof, Haider Ackermann, Travis Scott, and Holly Herndon & Mat Dryhurst. In 2025, sub designed the main exhibition at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
