Closing out her global book tour, Hong Kong based cartoonist Kaitlin Chan is coming to Spike Berlin for the EU launch of her debut graphic novel, Eric’s Sister. She’ll talk to fellow comic artist and firebugs author Nino Bulling about creative doubt, uneasy familial love, and art-world life amid the seismic upheavals of Hong Kong.

KAITLIN CHAN is a cartoonist and cultural worker in Hong Kong, where she is currently the director of Empty Gallery. Her debut graphic novel, Eric’s Sister (2023), was shortlisted for the 2024 Cartoonist Studio Prize in long-form comics.
NINO BULLING lives and works in Berlin. They make comic books and exhibitions, teach, host, and collaborate. Their graphic novel abfackeln (firebugs, 2022) was published in German in English on the occasion of documenta fifteen.
