Lecture: Ari Benjamin Meyer & Augustin Maurs at SFSIA

Spike is pleased to host a lecture by

Ari Benjamin Meyers with Augustin Maurs

"What is Not Music? – One question, two answers"

Meyers and Maurs will approach the issue of music in the contemporary art context via institutional examples, in particular Ari's own Kunsthalle for Music project.

Ari Benjamin Meyers is a trained composer, conductor and artist. In his work he explores structures and processes that redefine the performative, social, and ephemeral nature of music. Meyers is represented by Galerie Esther Schipper.

Augustin Maurs is a musician and composer. His work explores different forms of music making and listening as an implication in today's social and cultural environment. Maurs is the initiator of the Berlin based project platform written-not-written.

The lecture is part of the evening public program of Saas-Fee Summer Institute of Art, founded and directed by Warren Neidich and co-directed by Barry Schwabsky. In 2017 it takes place at Spike Berlin during the month of July.

Before and after each lecture we will be serving drinks at the SYL-Bar until midnight.
