In December 2024, we celebrated Spike’s 20th birthday at the Funkhaus, Vienna, with the launch of a special double issue, Spike #81/82 – The Post-Cool. With some of the city’s leading young artists, critics, gallerists, collectors, and institutional directors in attendance, the evening kicked off with a crooningly warm musical performance by Austrian artist and longtime Spike contributor Christian Egger, and cranked up to a packed, raucous party, with DJ sets curated by PARALLEL art fair.
